Food Preparation Associate

Position Summary

DarkHorse Express is seeking motivated and dependable Food Service Associates to support daily food preparation and kitchen operations. In this role, team members will contribute to delivering high-quality food service by assisting with meal preparation, order fulfillment, workstation maintenance, and overall operational efficiency.

Availability Requirements

Candidates with flexible availability are highly preferred. The restaurant operates seven days a week, with the exception of certain major holidays; however, availability to work select holidays may be required based on business needs.

Both morning and afternoon shifts are available. While flexible scheduling is preferred, it is not required. The client is willing to consider reasonable scheduling accommodations for qualified candidates who are the right fit for the team.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Prepare and package customer orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with food preparation and portioning in accordance with established recipes and company standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout kitchen, preparation, and service areas.
  • Replenish inventory, ingredients, and supplies as needed to support daily operations.
  • Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and quality service.
  • Support opening, closing, and routine operational procedures.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working in a kitchen setting using kitchen equipment and tools
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow directions, maintain accuracy, and pay close attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing operational needs.

Compensation

Pay Rate: Pay is up to $15 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the position.
